Mick will explain Evernote and compare it to a manual process, how to get it and then using the internet to search, copy and edit a number of items showing some of what can be achieved.

Out of Ireland 2015 Seminar

Sunday 13th September, 2015.
An all-day event at the Raiders Belconnen Club

Dr Richard Reid, Dr Perry McIntyre, Cheryl Mongan and Barbara Moore are the featured presenters.

Learn about how the Irish integrated and left their traces in the local communities, linking back to records in Ireland; the experiences of our ancestor educated by the Catholic nuns; and ways of finding more clues about your Irish history.

Members $40, and non-members $50.

Late breaking items of interest – hope you enjoy them.

For this month only, The Master Genealogist Users Group will meet on Wednesday 19 August 2015. Lindsay Graham will lead a discussion on Custom Toolbars, to be followed by a one-on-one general help session on any areas where members need help with TMG.



The Irish Special Interest Group meeting scheduled for 12 September has been cancelled as the 'Out of Ireland' seminar will be held on Sunday 13 September. Please see main article for more details.

Just a reminder than we have 4 users groups available to help you with choosing and using a family history software program.

The Family Tree Makers Users Group meets on the second Thursday each month at 10.00am in the Education Room.

The Legacy Users Group meets on the second Tuesday each month at 7.30pm in the Education Room.

The Master Genealogist Users Group meets on the first Wednesday of even numbered months at 7.30pm in the Education Room.

The Reunion Users Group meets on the second Friday each month at 9.30am in the Education Room.

August is National Family History Month and we hope you will enjoy the activities offered by the Society and those of other societies across Australia.

There’s lots of opportunities to further your research whether you’re just starting or have been researching for longer than you care to admit.

Don’t forget to check out the National Family History Month website  – there’s plenty of activities if you’re travelling but, if you’re staying home, there’s also some great freebies under ‘Online Event’. And don't forget to register for the free giveaways - you might win a great prize.

Closer to home, take advantage of the education sessions on offer, come to a monthly meeting or drop into our Library and chat to our helpful volunteers. If you're stuck, you can book a 'brick wall' session with our Research Officer.
